The Spring Book Fair at the Willow High School Library (March 25-28) was our most successful one yet! 🎉 Thank you to Blue Cypress Books for putting together such a beautiful display and diverse variety of books! Let’s “Boil like it’s 1984!" It’s the 40th anniversary of our crawfish boil and this year we’re going BIG!! Come join us at the middle school campus (5625 Loyola Avenue) on Sunday, March 24, and help us celebrate 40 years of food and fun! We will have student performances, live bands, games, prizes, inflatables, and food and beverages!
CA Choir had a visit from The Ransom Notes, an award-winning a cappella group at UChicago. We exchanged performances, socialized, and talked about shared interests from singing to engineering to medicine. They were impressed with our singers' musicianship, so they taught us one of their intricate arrangements, which we all sang together.

Certificate of Artistry in Creative Writing students will launch the 2024 issue of street magazine. This magazine is a culmination of the work of creative writing students and creatives outside CACW (or any CA for that matter). The magazine contains student writing, painting, comics, photos, etc. It is truly a slice of the cultural life here at Willow and a testament to the work of many teachers.

Stella Bourke participated in the Greater New Orleans Science & Engineering Fair (GNOSEF) last weekend. In addition to winning 1st prize in her category: Computational biology bioinformatics and biomedical engineering, she came away with one of 4 grand award prizes. She's now eligible to continue to the international science fair in Los Angeles.

Willow's Jacobi Wilford was named to the Coaches' 2023-24 11-4A All-District Team in Basketball. Wilford, a junior, averaged 15.2 pts per game this season for the Lions! Elijah Davis received Honorable Mention. Congratulations!
Students Maya Galloway, Jade Cameron, Yva Totchum, Hudson Frederick, and Mo Bidima, with help from Ms. Sullivan, placed second in the Zero Hunger Challenge! Larry Nance challenged high school students to solve the food insecurity problems in the city.
Willow Pride Robotics has won the state championship! The team went undefeated in the qualifying and semi final rounds, and won two of three finals matches to take home the win. In their last match of the day, they set the new high score of 214 points along with Stinger Robotics from Denham Springs. They will represent Louisiana at the World Championships next month in Houston along with Dominican Ultraviolet who won the Inspire Award.

Our students have advanced to the finals!!! They gave their initial pitch last Saturday.
