Two Willow Middle School students have won this year's Historic New Orleans Collection's (HNOC) Student Writing Contest.  For this year’s contest, HNOC used the themes and content of their newest exhibit, “Making It Home:  From Vietnam to New Orleans,” to solicit students’ thoughts on the immigrant experience, what individuals and families often bring along with them and what makes a location feel like home.  Of the over 700 contest entries, two Willow students earned winning essays. The students' essays will be published to the HNOC's Student Writing Contest website and the students will receive prizes.

Middle School Contest Winners:

First Place: My Grandfather’s Journey To America - Adeline Maldonado

Second Place:  Moving - Sawyer Uhlman

Congratuations to Adeline and Sawyer! We are so proud of you!
