Students in Ms. Svoboda's 5th-grade science had a very special lesson and presentation from LIGO, Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory. LIGO's Vernita Adkins presented to the students how LIGO  measures gravitational waves and their discoveries.  She then led students through an activity on magnetism to demonstrate how they align their mirrors in the interferometer. Thank you to LIGO and Ms. Svoboda for creating such a memorable learning experience for the students.

Families can visit LIGO for free in Livingston on the 1st Saturday of the month. Please visit the following link for more information: https://www.ligo.caltech.edu/LA/page/Science-Saturdays
