At the beginning of the school year, our entire middle school body worked on a special Arts Integration project during their advisory class. During the project, they examined self-portraits created by Samuel Joseph Brown, Jr. and Pablo Picasso throughout their lifetimes. The self-portraits showed growth and change over time. After exploring the artists' work, the students created their own self-portraits and wrote sentences depicting their growth goals for this school year.
Our Visual Arts teacher Ms. Bagneris and her students have been working on a special installation for each student's work. Each student's growth goal has been included in the sun of the installation. Ms. Bagneris and her students will continue to work on the installation. They will add the students' self-portraits in the upcoming weeks. Stay tuned for updates!
