Recently, students in Ms. Sanchez's 7th grade Integrated Science class had a special presentation with two scientists. Dr. Jill Trepanier from LSU and Dr. Clay Tucker from USM were guest speakers. During their presentation, they shared their passion about weather data collection and how scientists use tree core samples to date back into Earth’s history. This is important data since weather data collection has only been recorded in the past 100 years. Dendrologists (tree scientists) can study weather patterns from 2,000-5,000-year-old trees!
