Hadestown Opens this Week

The Willow School Theatre Department Presents HADESTOWN: TEEN EDITION by Anaïs Mitchell

HADESTOWN: TEEN EDITION is a story about hard times and how people respond to those hard times. In Hadestown, the rich and powerful rule with an iron fist. Here, we meet a young dreamer named Orpheus who falls deeply in love with Eurydice, a spirited but struggling woman seeking warmth and security. As the Fates would have it, Eurydice is lured into the dark depths of the Underworld by the sinister yet charismatic King Hades. Determined to rescue her, Orpheus embarks on a perilous journey, armed only with enchanting music and unwavering hope. Can Orpheus save Eurydice and remind Hades and his wife, Persephone, of the value of true love? With its haunting melodies and timeless tale of hope and defiance, HADESTOWN: TEEN EDITION pits industry against nature, doubt against faith, and fear against love in an electrifying reimagining of ancient Greek mythology, set against a backdrop of modern-day struggles and triumphs.
